Robin Dauncey has been making pottery in Norwich for nearly 30 years. Inspired by the echoes of craftsmen working in centuries past in the ancient medieval streets and buildings of this fine city, Robin continues a tradition of excellence in hand produced goods. He also upholds the reputation of English studios being at the leading edge of contemporary ceramic design worldwide.

Specialising in high-fired stoneware, as illustrated in the catalogue, Robin also produces a variety of pottery using several different clays.
Much of what is produced in the studio in Swan Yard is hand-thrown tableware for commercial use. Yet Robin also makes a whole range of goods and is always happy to take orders for commemorative items from clubs as well as individuals. Inspite of a busy production schedule, Robin manages to find time to produce individual items for exhibition.
Stoneware, so called because of its natural stone like appearance, is especially tough when thrown. Thrown pots have three times the strength of cast pottery. This crockery is therefore practical as well as attractive with very good chip resistance, excellent thermal shock properties as well as being microwave and dishwasher proof.
