Comments from previous students:
Alan & Julian
are truly the dynamic duo of editing, their combination of knowledge and
enthusiasm are not only boundless but infectious, the learning curve has
been extraordinary - It's been a fantastic weekend .What was also noticeable
was the attention given to individuals as well as a group. Giving
everyone the opportunity
explore their own needs from
the weekend.
I just wanted
to write and say thanks for a great course & for putting so much effort
in to a comfortable stay, lovely atmosphere and of course the great cooking,
I was amazed
by how much I learnt.
It was not until
I came on the course and had the support and infectious enthusiasm of
you all that I could start to realise what editing was all about. I really
enjoyed the whole process of creating a story and mood through selecting
the right
shots and fitting them with the music.
What a great
weekend - difficult to come down to earth again

Wildlife Video Editing with Final Cut Pro
This
weekend course will give you a more detailed look at the editing process
with hands-on experience using Final Cut Pro on Apple Mac computers. The
course is suitable for those who already have an understanding of the
basics of editing but want to develop their skills creatively and technically.
It is a suitable follow-on course for those who have completed the
Creative Wildlife Video Editing weekend, but this is not a pre-requisite.
Practical
sessions will be in small groups. During the weekend you will edit a short
wildlife film in your group and take away a copy on DVD. The theme throughout
will be specific to editing wildlife documentaries. The course is taught
by Alan Miller who has twenty years' experience of editing wildlife documentaries
and Julian Wheeler, an experienced lecturer in Media and Video Production.
The
location is Hall Farm House in North Norfolk, UK. Accommodation is camping
in your own tent (or a limited number of shared rooms are available for
an extra £20 per course, or there are B&Bs nearby) and there
will be excellent home-cooked food. No experience or equipment is required,
but do bring your laptop editing system if you have one.
