Lack of Confidence / Low Self-esteem

Most of us would, if pressed, admit to being shy or incompetent in certain situations! Can we recognise equally our areas of competence? The important thing to remember is that you are a unique person and have value. You don’t have to be out-going all the time, you don’t have to be full of wit and interesting conversation, you don’t have to put on a front. You can just learn to accept and value yourself. Others will respond in kind. They are probably just as nervous as you are!

Sometimes our opinion of ourselves is shaped by bad experiences in the past. We are all vulnerable to criticism/bullying/lack of appreciation etc. We are only human-beings, we don’t need to aspire to perfection and we don’t need to adhere to someone else’s expectations. I have every faith that you can learn to be yourself in whatever way is most comfortable and appropriate for you.

We can discuss this if you choose.
